I've joined the club!

Hey all,

I've joined the Cool Kids Club and got myself a 1968 Camaroproject car. I have no idea what type since I've come to discover it's a"stitch" car. It's going to be a frame-off resto-mod that I'm hopingto have finished by August of 2018 in time for the Woodward Dream Cruise and mycars 50th anniversary. It will be tight due to my budget, but here's to hoping!Although I've always done all my own vehicle work, I'm new to the restorationgame. Luckily, I have the help of my older brother who's restored close to 2dozen classics (mostly Chevelles and Camaros), but unfortunately, he lives 200miles away so I'm on my own for long periods of time. I've got a good startalready since the car was little more than a rolling chassis w/ some seats fromthe get go, so I've already got everything not welded on completely removed(except for the subframes, so I can roll it around for now). I've also got amotor started. It's an LQ4 6.0L from a Silverado 2500 w/ a 4L80e transmission.I've already got a set of Kook's full length headers and a Comp Cams 54-454-11cam. The engine has been hot tanked, the heads ported, and we'll be putting ittogether next weekend. I'm sure as I progress I will have a million and onequestions, but for now, here's some pics of what I'm working with:

I'll post more as things move along. Thanks for looking!

Re: I've joined the club!

Mitch - Welcome aboard. Wow some funky paint you have there. In the first photo I thought she was burnished brown, one of my favorite Camaro colors, in the second shot she looks iridescent blue and purple, same on the side view, and then again a bit of burnish brown on the field tow shot. So what is it And what are you thinking you will paint her when done?

I can tell not every second will be fun as you will hit a few walls and get discouraged, but don't give up. You will make it through like the rest of us did just fine Ohhh and one last thing - just be forewarned that you WILL blow your budget
