New guy 67 RS

I'm Greg from PA.

I just scored a really nice 67 Camaro RS that's also an SS clone.

I'm 48 years old and I've been wrenching on Musclecars for over 30 years. Back in the late 80's I had a really nice 67 GTO and a good buddy had a 67 RS Camaro. We used to street race each other ALL the time. In 1988 he went away to college and was forced to sell his Camaro. I had just enlisted in the Marines and had decided to sell my GTO. Sadly I've always regretted not buying his Camaro.

Fast forward to 2016 and I had a chance to score a really nice 67 RS. It's a real RS car that the previous owner built into an RS/SS car. It has a nicely built 71 454 with a Comp Cams XE268 cam, Edelbrock Performer intake and a tricked out Q-jet carb. It's also running a Muncie M-20 4 speed and a 12 bolt rear with 3:42 gears and an Eaton posi unit.

I'm no stranger to Chevy's or Musclecars but this is my first 1st gen Camaro. I'm looking forward to getting as much info about Camaro's as possible.

From one Greg to another, welcome to Team Camaro and congrats on your newly acquired 1st gen Camaro. Sounds like you have a nice car there and speaking of sound - I'm sure that thing sounds awesome when running through the gears. Good luck and please post up some pics.

Re: New guy 67 RS

Thanks for the welcome. I'm stoked as Hell about my new Camaro. The 1st gen RS cars are on my list of top 5 coolest cars ever.

The only pics I have at this time are cell phone pics from the day I inspected the car. I'm bringing it home next weekend then I have all winter to tweak it to my personal preferences. I really don't have much planned other than a good cleaning, detailing, flush all the fluids, and a tune up.

Hey Greg, welcome. Your car looks similar to the direction i am going with mine. I would appreciate getting an eyeball on it this coming spring. If you are going to hit some cruise night or show let me know. Doylestown is nearby and my wife's home turf. Thanks. Steve.

Going out next weekend with a trailer and towing it home.

Yeah I know the weather is calling for not so nice weather. I'm leaving PA at 0200 Saturday morning and hoping to get out, get the car, and get headed home before it gets messy.

Absolutely. I do a lot of local shows and cruises with my group of car buddies. I have a group of guys that I hang with and we all have cool cars. We've got a few Chevelles, a 67 Camaro, a 55 Chevy, a 71 Maverick (nasty car with a worked 351), and now my 67 Camaro as well.

We normally only do 3 actual shows. Doylestown, Hatboro, and Perkasie. Other than that we do a lot of local cruise nights so I'm sure we'll run into each other.

Re: New guy 67 RS

I usually get to Hatboro and Perkasie. Didnt know there was one in Doylestown. You guys ever go to the one held on the old Vargo Dragway? Usually some oddities appear there.

Re: New guy 67 RS

I had plans to do Vargo this year with my buddies but my son's football team made it to the championship game this year so I went to his game instead.

Yes Doylestown has a show just like Hatboro and Perkasie. It's usually sometime in July either the week before or the week after Hatboro.
