Camaro Pride

Greetings from Chicago!

Who doesn't remember their first car? For me it was love at first sight on that one fateful fall day in October of 1987. I was supposed to buy a Chevrolet Chevette but came home with a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. Love you Dad! Sorry Mom! Fast forward 30 years. Now as I take apart my first car piece by piece in hopes of restoring it back to its former glory days, I remember the bitter sweet times we shared. Ahhh... Friends and family riding shotgun, risking life and limb for a cheap thrill. Ahhh... The sound of the engine on the open road. Ahhh... The wheels. Ahhh... The girls. Ohhh... The tickets. Ohhh... The accidents! Too much to list here but nicely summarized in a song I wrote titled "Camaro Pride" which you can listen to right here! Enjoy!

Re: Camaro Pride

Thanks everyone for your support and advice over the years. I learned a lot here and on YouTube without doubt and I am extremely grateful. Now when someone tells you that every single piece on the 1st generation Camaro can be replaced easily, don't you believe them. Case in point. The rear inner quarter panel support brace is not available for purchase unless you buy the much larger and very expensive "1967 - 1969 QUARTER PANEL AND DOOR FRAME ASSEMBLY." I am surprised there is no market for these pieces. Don't get me started on the "1967 - 1969 Camaro Firebird Front Lower Door Jamb Patch" which does not include the door hinge support bracket unless of course you purchase the much larger and very expensive "1969 CAMARO & FIREBIRD FRONT DOOR PILLAR INNER FRAME." Pictures of that fabrication to follow. Camaro restoration fanatics can't catch a break especially when it comes to shelling out the greenbacks! Love ain't cheap!
