Cool New dude with 69 Camaro X44

Hello Team Camaro members!

I've been lurking for a while now and enjoy all the awesome information you all share. I just acquired a 1969 Camaro (https://www.flickr.com/gp/[email protected]/r6tTc4). My goal is to create a driver I will build with my son. This isn't my first F-body, I've owned / regret selling the following: 1968 Firebird 350, 1968 Firebird 400, 1967 Firebird 326

About the car: I paid $5,500 for the car. This car was stored in an enclosed car trailer and the last time it was on the road was 1993. The car is pretty solid but both rear quarters need replacing. It is a X44 base model, standard black interior, LeMans Blue code. No rust on the underside and the floors are solid. You can see the factory paint/seam sealer on the floors. I'm guessing this was a 307. It is a manual trans car but both the engine and trans are long gone. That's okay though, the plan is to drop a SB383 w/Tremec TKO. Other than that, it's going to stay stock. Undecided about the badging but leaning towards leaving the chevy emblems.

About me: USAF veteran, married, two kids, two dogs, love my country, guns, cars and anything that goes fast.

Anyhow, any thoughts, ideas, input are welcome.

Welcome David and thank you for your service.
Enjoy the time spent with your son. My dad got me involved in this hobby way back in the 70's and I'll never forgive him for it. Lol. Weekends and late nights in the garage gave me the chance to really get to know dad as one of the guys rather than just the father figure.
Enjoy.

Nice project. When you want to post pics from Flicker, select the link for "BBCode". That will make your pics post in the thread versus having us click on the link and go to Flicker to view them.
