Please allow me to introduce myself

Vague reference to a stones song!

Dawned on me that I never took the time to introduce myself, I started a thread in the build section regarding the "re-birth" of a 30 year old project.

I am a life member on the team chevelle site and spent a lot of time there a few years back, Not so much now. I have a 70 chevelle, 468,th400, 3:73- she's a bit rough but driveable. Its been back burnered until my Camaro is back to life.

The Camaro has lived its entire life within 10 miles of here. I live just north of norwood ohio in Fairfield. It was built in norwood, the original owner lived about 5 miles from me, He sold it to his nephew, Dad and I bought it from the nephew (I went to High school with him).

In 1986 we started to convert it to a drag car and never finished. In hindsight we made a lot of mistakes. I am currently correcting a lot of issues we created, Throwing a lot of what we did in the dumpster. I am working out of 50's style 1 car garage, Closer to a big shed with a rollup door. Its a tight fit but its what I got. We've lived hear for 20 years, this is the first time Ive had a car in the garage.

Thank you all for allowing me to join the family, Ive been spending hour after hour reading threads and learning everything I can, I've got along way to go.

Thank you
Ken

Welcome to a site inhabited by men of wealth and taste, or perhaps devils?

67RSSS......owned since 69. A basket case for most of it.

I have to back out the door to turn around, Its definitely different.

Worse part is 2 years ago tomorrow our house burned down, Total loss and full rebuild of everything except the garage! originally the ceiling height in the garage was only 6.5feet -Couldn't open the hood of the car if you managed to squeeze one in, and we had a fireplace in the house that occupied a big chunk of the garage so it was even smaller and it had 1 110 outlet shared with my pool filter, lights, Microwave and Refrigerator (in the kitchen) The person that originally wired the house must have been on drugs. Can you guess why it burned down?? Yep you got it! Electrical short in the wall - Federal pacific breaker box- Breaker never blew it had welded itself ON.

I wanted to have it enlarged but due to code issues and proximity to our swimming pool it couldn't be done. We had the fireplace removed and the ceiling/joists raised 2 feet, gained a bit of room. also had the electrician deck the place out- 2 30amp 220 outlets, 9 20amp 110 outlets, 4 4' florescent light fixtures. Its BRIGHT when they're all on and your never more than 3 feet from an outlet. Also has 2 50' air hose reels, I managed to get a new air compressor out of the deal. As tough as it is, ITs better than it was.

Welcome Ken, I doubt there is a question you can ask that one of the TC members can't answer, these guys really know their stuff. Glad you're going to resurrect the Camaro, keep us posted on your progress.
