Re: Ralf

I am a mechanical engineer out of Nixa Missouri. I purchased my Camaro about a year and half ago, matching numbers original California car with good documentation, etc. Can't seem to attach a picture of it (JPG file about 750 KB), what is the file size limit?. I also have a question regarding the vinyl top which I will try to post in the proper thread. Thanks.

Re: Ralf

Never had issues, be sure you are using the "full view" from the box selection down in left bottom corner of this page. You need to use the "manage attachments" about half the way down page. Follow instructions to select photo from your files in browse , upload then close window.

Lets see if someone with more intellect will post .

Re: Ralf

Ralf - Welcome aboard. Here are the current attachment limits, however as a Regular non supporting level member your upload storage space is limited to point 3 meg so just enough for a medium picture of your ride on your profile page. The supporting membership levels of Premium and Gold lifetime all have substantial bumps in storage and other membership rights and privileges and help support the site. See attached grid.

As a non supporting member the options for photos are to use an off site photo site and then use direct image tags "[img] [/img]" around a direct url to your photo.

Poke around and consider becoming a supporting member - Gold lifetime is the best deal with a one time membership fee of $59.95

Again Welcome to Team Camaro!
Brian

Ralf, welcome aboard - that is a beautiful car. Looks like a well-optioned 67 RS/SS car - deluxe interior, tach & gauges, AC, VT. Very nice. The only nit-pick I would have is it looks like your front bumper guards might be a little too far apart - look at this picture from Camaros.org:

It would be a relatively easy fix. Still, beautiful car, and I love the way the vinyl top and stripe set off that Butternut Yellow paint!

Looks like a nice convertible Cutlass sitting next to it. Tell us more about that one too. I used to own a 1970 Cutlass SX convertible with the 455/Turbo 400/ 12-bolt posi. That was a nice ride that I wish I still owned.

What part of Missouri are you in? I am near Louisville - for a good road trip, drive one of your cars to the Street Rod Nationals here in late July / August.

Re: Ralf

Tom, thanks for the comments/reply and the constructive nit-pik. I have good history of the car up until it was sold at Barrett Jackson, 2004 Scottsdale AZ, Lot#126, after that not much history. According to the invoice the car came with front and rear bumper guards, however if you google the pictures of Lot#126, there are no front bumper guards. I can only guess that they were taken off at some point in time prior to Barrett and then someone put new or the originals back on. There is only one set of holes in the valance, at the guards' current location, so I would guess that the valence was replaced at some point as well. From the little I read it appears that 10" left and right from the center is the accepted normal location, although I also read that factory workers didn't always follow AIM to the tee.

That sounds like quite the machine you owned, the 1970 455SX Turbo convertible that is! My 1972 Cutlass Supreme convertible is a bit more middle of the road. I have owned it for 30 years now, it's all numbers matching drivetrain, 350 4-barrel, AT, and has had one repaint to the original color (sequoia green) with white bucket seats, console, etc. I'll post some pictures on my garage sometime soon.

I am near Springfield, MO. Do you have pictures of your Camaros and possibly the Cutlass?

Cheers!

Re: Ralf

I have attached a couple of pictures of the Camaros. Unfortunately, I don't have a digital picture of the Cutlass to post. The color on mine was called "Bamboo", which looked very close to the Butternut Yellow on your Camaro. It was loaded up - PW, PDL, Power Top, remote trunk release, etc. Wish I still had it - rode like a Cadillac - smooth! Fairly rare car too, or so I was told.

Re: Ralf

Great looking Camaros, gotta love convertibles! And it looks like the young ones are enjoying it as much as you. I googled the bamboo color you mentioned and you're right that it appears close to the butternut yellow. I was watching the Barrett Jackson Auction last night and saw a 1967 Nova, butternut yellow, cross the block, pretty cool. You're also right about Cutlass' riding like Cadillacs, they are definitely highway cruisers, very smooth. Did your 67 come with the spoilers or did you put them on? I am thinking about that addition in the future.
