Long time follower - My intro
I started following the great site a couple of years ago; right after I purchased a 67 Firebird convertible. When I purchased the car, I could see that it needed a lot of work. After all, I live in Montreal and rough winters are pretty tough on any car. So you can just imagine a car spending 50 of them here. Well actually, from what I was told when I bought the car, it had been in a barn for the last 20 years.
Once I started taking the car apart, I quickly realized that this was going to be a long-term project. In about a year and a half, I replaced: complete floor, firewall, right, left and center cowl, one rocker and both lower A-posts. I have been reading the various posts and picking up a ton of information to help me along.
I had never welded before this project, but a good friend of mine (who has welded all his life) was able to give me some great training. I was always into repairing things, so I was ready for this kind of challenge. I actually work for a gas pump manufacturer (the kind you see in service stations) and I train technicians on how to repair them.
Well, that's my story. Cheers!
