West Coast noob

Came here a few times looking for information over the years as I searched for my dream car. I never joined as I didn't have much to offer then. I was however always amazed with all the good info on here how many people were happy to help.

Well this last week I finally found the car I wanted and have spent the last few days reading everything I could to help me confirm what I was seeing. So many people from TeamCamaro reached out to me and helped me on my way. I wanted to say thanks for the help one more time.

Today I made a offer on that car and I am happy to say I will be a new very owner soon.

Look forward to being a active member and learning more about my new Camaro. Really is addictive running numbers and reading about how these beauties were built back in the day..

Re: West Coast noob

I applaud your purchase and totally agree with you about the "Addictabilty" factor. I have owned my 69 SS396 since last April and it's really been an obsession to match months and years and options up. Then, to remove the tarnish and renew areas, then to stand back and see the improvement is also addicting. Many days of enjoyment and satisfaction await you. Have fun being a "First Gen Camaro Addict"!

Re: West Coast noob

Well turns out this guy I was buying it from is a total scumbag, We shook hands on a deal Monday that was more than his first craigslist ad.

Turns out he didn't have the title in his name and so my bank wouldn't fund until that was corrected. Over the last few days we talked about a few ways he could get the title, one was running the car thru a dealer buddy of his, that would have cost another 5%, so he was going to fast track the title and I was looking at 10 days before the deal was finished. I said that was fine and that i would get the loan paperwork all sorted out on my end so he would have his money the day after he got the title back. I always stayed in contact with him and never wavered from the deal. It was just a matter of him not having the title in hand. I email him yesterday and let him know my bank was standing by and everything short of a copy of the title was handled and ready to go and I would have a check overnighted the day he got the title.

Today I see he put the car up on ebay..1969 Chevrolet Camaro

If you are bidding on stuff from this guy know what kind of guy you are dealing with and steer clear. I know he won't have the title in hand when the auction closes and he is going to string out the other buyer also.

Im old school so this complete lack of honor really gets to me. If you are going to back out of a deal at least have the balls to call and tell me directly that the deal is off.

I guess some people would rather make a few extra bucks then keep their word.
