Done lurking

Hi everyone,

Seems like every time I have a problem good ol' google sends me to this forum. I usually find the answer here or at least several things to try.

The short story is that I bought my 69 Camaro at a yard sale about 30 yrs ago. I was in college and saw it under a blanket in the garage. I joked about the price and a long story short it was mine after a few months. It is/was about 60% finished and I had no money so I did what ever it took to get the car.

Fast forward 30 yrs, college, marriage, kids....WORK. I finally have the money and some limited time to start working on the car. Yes, start. So much fun starting to work on such a classic after it has been sitting for 30 yrs.

Anyways, thank in advance for all the advice and help!

Itís been so long since I bought it I know very little about the car. It has a 350 engine and TH350 trans. Itís not numbers matching so Iím basically going to build it how I want. I need to pull the engine and replace the oil pump. The relief valve is stuck and making a mess of my garage floor. I need to pull it to start figuring out what shape itís in and what I really need to do.

Re: Done lurking

Welcome Pat!
I used to spend a ton of time on here but I just stopped in a saw a fellow Washingtonian so I had to say welcome! What part of the state?

I donít stop by as much since the site has changed a bit from ďback in the dayĒ and I was always a straight line performance guy, which isnít really the primary trend here.
That said, tons of great guys on here still and endless information!
Good luck with your build!

And oh yeah, Go Dawgs!!!

Welcome back, Sean
