Re: 2019 Chevrolet Camaro Spied Testing Facelift and 6-Speed Manual
I'll play devils advocate. When I saw them introduce the prototype in 2008, I was excited. It was not the full retro version, like the challenger and mustang, but had many styling cues from the first gen. I thought I remember them saying it had the same dimensions as a 69 camaro (length width wheel base).
(I also remember when they introduce the prototype there was a huge jump in first gen camaro prices.)
By the time the 2010 hit the streets in early mid 2009, I thought they were so eye catching. Looked ahead of their time in some ways. IMO very radical for Chevrolet.
The 5th gens still catch my eye today. I was disappointed with the 6th gen. Seems like they missed an opportunity. Great power still, but the car now looked to similar to many other cars. All the styling cues from the 5th gen disappeared, and it looks more like a KIA. If it didn't have a bow tie on it, I don't think it would be recognized as a camaro.
I think they need to ditch the revamp, and come out with a very different 7th gen.
