Sort of new

I joined a while back so I donít know if that qualifies me as new.
I am browsing for my first Camaro. Mostly looking for a first gen but also considering a 70-73.
I am also searching for books, articles, etc. for how to buy a Camaro. I saw the bibliography on camaro.org. A lot of stuff, does anyone have suggestions on buying an early model Camaro? Books, anecdotes, etc.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Sort of new

Welcome - whats your first name?
Depends on what you are looking for. Many folks look for a project to make their own, or to restore to factory, or to modify. Others still want a decent weekend driver ready to go. Others want a trailer queen to enter shows with.

What are your goals or wants for your first gen?

Brian

Name is John.

Thanks for the reply, I am not looking for a show car, just something to drive around on the weekends and occasionally to work.

Having said that I will aim to make it a daily driver eventually.

I will need to buy one that needs work because that will allow me to spread the money out over time.

Whether it is numbers matching or SS or RS isnít too important.

I would keep it close to factory without a ton of upgrades and modernization.

I am in the Dallas area so AC is necessary, I am willing to put on an after market setup.

Re: Sort of new

Well that's all doable John. Do you have a preference for year?

I don't really have a preference for the year as long as it fits in the 67-73 range.
I am partial to 67-69 though.

I am still trying to find all the places on the internet that people advertise.
