First - Welcome to Team Camaro

Lots of great information on this site just by using the "Search" function above - it may save you son time and posts.
Also check out The CRG - www.camaros.org - for more great information on the 1st Gen Camaro.

The "N173" is an internal scheduling code used in the Los Angeles/Van Nuys assembly plant.
Here is a past post from a search - https://www.camaros.net/forums/showth...cheduling+code - discussing the exact meening of the code.

Hope this helps;
John

ps: I put the infomation in your post in searchable form for others to find ...
pss: When you get a chance, go back and fill in your profile with location (etc.) lots of fellow members locally like to get together when possible - they'll send invites if they know where you are.

I am curious how you know it is a Z/28? Van Nuys cars are impossible to verify without paperwork or an original engine with a real DZ stamp and partial VIN stamp. One clue is to look for the build sheet above the fuel tank for verification. I started with an X33 body and original diff and went from there also.
