Re: van nuys 69 with no drivetrain
Welcome to Team Camaro. Many VN cars have a build sheet above the gas tank. That may be your best bet. Many clues can get you close. Such as if the heater blower cover has outlets in the middle (BB) or engine end (SB) of the cover. If it was a manual trans car, is the speedometer cable on the driver (302,350,396) or passenger side (307,6 cyl.) of the steering column. Some engines can be eliminated by these clues. A 302 setup is going to look like an 350/300 setup, but not like a 307 or 6 cylinder setup. If it has the original differential, a 12 bolt will eliminate a 307 or 6 cylinder unless it had rear disk brakes. The engine frame brackets are different for BB and SB, if they are still there and orginal. Just some thoughts to get started with.
