I recently purchased a 69 x-11 Camaro but it showed no signs of SS emblems ,the car has front rear spoilers 12 bolt posi ,but does not show what engine displacement it came with.

Re: ID my cowl tag

Decode for body number: 148357

10D = Built the Fourth week of October.
69-12437 = Coupe.
NOR = Built in Norwood Ohio.
711 = Standard Black Bucket Seats.
61-61 = Car Color is Burnished Brown
X11 = non-SS396, non-Z28, with style trim

Check the code on the rear axle to see if the date works for the car. Keep in mind that while some X11s were SSs, most were not.

Driving a #s-matching Z in the rain..... and lovin' it....

Re: ID my cowl tag

Thanks Dave I appreciate the info as I am new to the computer and the restoration game. I have built some figure 8 cars, all camaros, and somechallenger series cars that run circle track . I hope to have some pics soon,there is quite a bit of rust in the car I bought ,but they make lots of parts.
