who's using spectre EFI tank

Im interested in hearing from any of you guys using the spectre EFI fuel tank. what engine you are running with it and if your using the stock pump that came in the tank. If not, what pump have you upgraded to for your particular application.and what EFI system your using with this tank set up.

I have this tank for my ZZ 502 MPFI application, in it's stock configuration. Im trying to get a concensus of what the HP limitations the stock pump are.

Thanks !

Re: who's using spectre EFI tank

I'm running stock LS1 with mine, and the pump that came with the tank. Fuel gauge will read no higher that just above 1/2 tank at fillup. After about 75 miles its starts to come down & seems to be accurate. At 1/4 tank or less, any quick turn, even at low speed, will starve for fuel and stall. It will re-start once the fuel settles. I just am getting used to filling up around 1/4 tank. Pump is quiet. What are the fuel requirements for the 502? I'm not really familiar with the FI on your setup. I read the spectre tank will support around 450 hp. Performance seems good as long as you keep it full. Scott

Re: who's using spectre EFI tank

thanks Scott,

the ZZ502 is supposed to be 502 HP. I talked to an enging builded and he's dyno'd a few of these. he said their pretty close to the 502 HP mark.
he said some may dyno as high as 515-520, from his experience.

so I'd say around those numbers for fuel requirments.the 450 HP on the stock pump is a bit low for my application and will likely require an upgrade.

I wonder if theres anybody out there pushing the stock pump in the spectre tank to 500 HP or so ?

hopefully more people will post regarding this...

Thanks !

We just used one one a 500HP LS3 and the fuel pump died in 2 hours. So we are upgrading the pump to a Walbro

frank,

I'd be very interest in what Walbro pump you end up using in the spectre tank. I'd guess a 255 LPH

thanks

Any news on what pump you put in the spectre tank ?

BE different....ACT normal.

No one is completely useless..They can always be used as a bad example

Re: who's using spectre EFI tank

I use a Walbro in tank . It is a 255 LPH. I have about 600 HP with a Procharger. No problems feeding it. I used a stock tank with a Tanks Inc drop in. It has a tray at the bottom. I use the stock sending unit. I am changing to a Spectre tank and am going to weld in a depression for the Tanks inc unit. I am also considering one of these.
