The intake is a very nice piece. I chose the edelbrock for my hp set up. It is a little shorter and might have a chance to fit under the hood. It won't look that nice.
The throttle body looks all business.

Are you replacing a carb or is this a new build?

I ordered the Vic Jr EFI intake, and didn't like as much as the holley intake, so I returned it to Summit. It was about 1 inch shorter though.

This will be going on my new 496 with AFR's 290 heads.

Looks nice Chuck. Now, do you happen to have a set of oval gaskets laying around? I'm curious to see if the ports on that intake are large enough for a good port match to the heads. Holley EFI oval intakes in the past fit the peanut heads. If this is still the case, you need to open those things up big time.

Hey are the pics. Do you think it would be worth the effort to have the port matched? It is a 4 hour drive to the machine shop, and the price isn't cheap here in the UK with the dollar to pound conversion. Probably about $800 total to have them ported to include gas there and back. I am willing to do it though. The Vic Jr had the same size ports as well.

Damn - worse than I thought. Yes, you need to have them opened-up mucho! I know its a pain, but man, those ports are tiny on that intake.

It almost looks like you would be better off using the rectangular intake, and save yourself the port job????

So the Victor's ports were that small too huh?

You should send this photo to Tony Mamo, see what his thoughts are. I'll give him this link.

I've got a Vic Jr intake in the Garage I can post pics of if you want. It's not the EFI one, but they should be the same. It is a pretty big difference when you see the pic, but just looking at them they don't look as bad. I should get the block from the machine shop tomorrow and then make the journey next week to have it ported. The machine shop wants a bare block, head gaskets, and the heads... should be fun.

Re: New Holley HP EFI Pics 550-835 BB/Oval Port

I had a Victor rec port, and the ports were a pretty good fit to my AFR rec port heads. I cant imagine the Victor oval port would use peanut-types ports like this Holley does. Either way, probably be better off just having this ported so you dont have to change everything over to run the Vic.

There was a thread somewhere where a fellow was running that Holley intake, and his car mysteriously wasnt running as fas as he thought. Had that intake ported, and the car picked-up big time. Will post it if I can fold it.

Running the factory tach and a colum mounted tach (easier to see). No issues whatsoever. Not to mention the tach feature in this little handheld. Yes - 3 tachs!!!

The coil that I got from the salvage yard had a wire coming off of it for a tach connection, couldnt of been easier to hook up.
