LS swap with factory A/C box - Is it possible?

I have a 68 327 with factory AC which I'd like to keep. Has anyone done a LS1 (or equivalent) swap and left the factory AC box in place? Is it possible?

Re: LS swap with factory A/C box - Is it possible?

If you are talking about the evap box, It can be modified to allow enough room on right side of engine. I had to cut and remold the box. The motor, headers have plenty of room. Changing the spark plug is a problem. I also have enough room for the water temp sending unit with adapter from S&P. I have not completed the car but I believe it can be done. I used edlebrock mounting plates and headers. Hope this helps.

Yes, it is possible. I swapped over to a big block "suitcase" and evaporator. Still had to notch and re-glass the LH side of the case to clear. But then I moved my motor back as close to the firewall as I could get it, since I do lots of open track/road course events.
I am 99% sure you would have to cut a BB case anyway though, and am positive you will have to notch a SB case, if it will even fit.
