2010 donor Camaro or buy parts seperate for LS engine swap?

Guys,
Sorry if this has been covered I looked but could not find anything. I am restoring my 69 Conv and am planning to go with a modern LS engine, 5 or 6 sp trans and suspension. Would you buy a 2010 or later Camaro donor and use the engine and trans and possibly seats etc or buy separate?
Thanks.

I would not buy a 2010 donor.

I'd build a LS3 and go 6 speed with a harness from someone like Street & Performance

agreed, i'm re-doing mine with an lq9, 4l60, upgraded suspension, brakes and am not going "cheap" but am working on a budget. I got all that done for a lot less than what you can by a donor car for. Shop around for parts, thats half the fun.

Thanks for the responses I had just seen a 2011 Camaro ss v8 3396 miles with only rear end damage go thru the auction for around the price of a crate engine and trans.

well then might be worth it....the parts you don't use could be sold to help re-coop some costs

Re: 2010 donor Camaro or buy parts seperate for LS engine swap?

I am putting an L92 with the accessory drive from a 2010 LS3/L99 Camaro. The alternator does not fit, as the mounting bracket mounts it too far away from the engine - it hits the frame. However, the fix is easy - use 98-02 LS1 alternator brackets and alternator. The brackets are still readily available from multiple vendors and the OEM GM parts are pretty cheap.

1969 Camaro - Intense Blue Pearlcoat/white (Baldwin-Motion paint scheme), stock 6.2 liter L92 with VVT, LS3 intake, Doug's Headers; Tremec TKO, 3.73 12-bolt posi.

I would buy the donor if the price was worth it and you could sell the other parts to cover other parts of your build.

1969 Camaro Z-28 with a 2001 LS1, FAST 92mm Intake & TB, Comp Cam, headers, Cirle D Converter and 12 bolt moser 3:55 gear. (Didn't want to but had to sell)
