98 LS1 have built in regulator?

does this motor have a "built in regulator" on the fuel rail? I've read somewhere that this year doesn't need the traditional $40 vette style fuel filter/regulator bc it has one built in to the fuel rail, but I just have no idea.

it has 2 lines coming out of the drivers side fuel rail as you can see

bought this 98 LS1 and just trying to sort things out....some stuff is really complicated

It's part of the sending unit at the tank and installed in the return line. So, it's still in the fuel tank of the car the engine came from.

Looked on the Corvette forum and they say its at the fuel rail on a '98, supposedly a little canister that also has a vent line that runs to the intake tract.

or actually the one from tanks inc looked best, as they sell the quick disconnects with it as a kit

yeah its out of a vette steiner. I looked on rock auto for a fuel filter, and its just showing a GF820 ac delco, but it doesn't say anything about a regulator, and its just $11.14, so I guess a 98 is a 1 yr specific thing....not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing at this point

Re: 98 LS1 have built in regulator?

The early C5 has the return line off the fuel rail. Simple thing it to swap it out for a later LS1 fuel rail and run regulator/filter with the single line to the fuel rail.

That little silver round can on the fuel rail is the regulator
