Holley Sniper wiring with Vintage Air

I have a 1969 Camaro with a 383. I installed the Vintage Air system for cars without A/C. I'm now in the process of putting the Holley Sniper EFI on my car. The Sniper has optional connections for increasing the idle when the A/C kicks on and another to shut off the air at wide open throttle. Has anyone wired this combo? I called Vintage and they said most setups connect to the 12 volt power for the idle increase but the Holley instructions say to connect to a ground triggered A/C relay. I've tried calling Holley but have given up sitting on hold several times for 30 minutes. Thanks!

Re: Holley Sniper wiring with Vintage Air

I used the Edlebrock Proflow series FI with vintage aire. The throttle body , once set, acknowledges where idle position is and would use the he throttle body to trigger the on AC, I believe the IAC(Inlet air controller) mounted on the back of the throttle body, senses the vac drop. You should look for these input/outputs on your wiring mapping.

As for the AC cut off, I didn't have this as I was running a ZZ3 crate motor. Simple turning off the compressor with fan running could do the trick for you at the traffic lite.
Sounds like you got the wrong Holley tech .

Re: Holley Sniper wiring with Vintage Air

I didn't use any of the a/c options on my holley efi, but I thought the instructions were pretty good in that area.
The holley forum is where you go if you want specific Holley efi answers. In fact, someone's probably already made a thread about it.

Re: Holley Sniper wiring with Vintage Air

If I am following this right you can use an additional relay driven by the VA compressor signal to pull the Holley input to ground.

Re: Holley Sniper wiring with Vintage Air

That's correct. I got a great explanation on the Holley forum for that. Still trying to figure out how to wire the WOT. Thanks for the help guys.
