New 496

Finally picked it up......sound quality is poor due to using a cheap digital camera, plus the truck headers kinda suck.

I may be old and slow, but ........what the heck was I gonna say?

Nice...it sounds good!

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue

Jeff that sounds nice and i like the way it almost jumped out of the motor stand when you snapped the throttle at the end of the video. What are the specs.

Just a stock 2-bolt main block, Scat crank, KB flat tops, stock rods, Renegade 320 heads w/big valves, Comp "Big Mutha Thumpr" hydraulic cam, roller rockers, Hurricane square port intake, etc. I'm afraid I may have picked the wrong cam for this application. Comp calls for a c/r of 9.5 or greater. We figured it up and my motor is roughly 9.2 to 1. I'll know more when I finally get it in the car and start tuning the ignition and carb. The new JDR 850 I had built does'nt wanna idle down low, but is super snappy when you crack it. Just tuning issues, I hope. Motor was really built for torque, not HP. I don't think I'll have a problem gettin either. I'll post another video with the JDR carb on it.

Man it sounds great and yeah defiantly a torque monster . But thats fin and the motor may want a bigger carb or some tweaking with more full to bring that idle down. What is the timing set at.

Sounds pretty good to me. Just needs a 8-71 blower on top of it.
