I'd have to agree... 13/14" or wider steam rollers on the rear.

Re: What is Pro-Street?

At the risk of self-promotion, I couldn't resist an opportunity to post a couple of pics of one of my old rides which I believe by john68 and Doug G's definition qualifies as Pro Street --- sometimes I really miss this car

DougP.... thats it I don't care if it had a Target Master motor in it.... it's the look.

Buddy said they (his motor and friends car) had a back-halved car with a basic stock rebuild and solid cam 355... wouldn't even turn the tires over in the waterbox Called the car "Just fakin' it " ... ran 13.0's LOL

Cars like that is what turned so many people off to pro street, me included. The look is great but, you have to have some power to back up the look. Doesn't have to be a 9 second car but, 13 and 14 second pro streeters are embarassing (IMO). There is a car I will never forger it was an early Nova huge tires, brite red paint, big hood scoop, came off the trailer, couldn't spin the tires in the water box and then proceded to run 14's. I was so disappointed, I saw the car in the pits and was in love with it, I was excited to see it make a pass. After seeing that I swore I would never EVER have a car that looked the part but, couldn't at least run a respecatble number.

I bought a small block crate motor for it - 350 / 440 HP dynoed before they sent it to me... it would absolutely turn the times and more but since I never had it down the race track I can only speculate on what it would have turned in the quarter mile --- conservatively maybe mid to low 12s --- however after sittting around with the fellas and having a whole bunch of beers I believe it was an 8 second car
