strip or blast 9" center section???

Probaly a stupid question but I thought I'd ask anyway. I need to strip the old paint off the center section of my 9" rear end. Since it's all assembled I assume the 100% only way to remove the old paint is to use paint striper. I doubt I should have it sand blasted.

Correct ???

Use the paint stripper. Don't risk getting blasting media in the gearset or carrier assembly.

Re: strip or blast 9" center section???

I had my housing sand blasted years ago and it was a pain to get all the sand out. That gear oil really stuck to the sand and I had to use brake cleaner to finally get it all out.

The main housing has been cleaned so I don't worry about having it blasted. I'll just use striper on the gear "chunk".
