Quick video of my car.

The ProStreet section had no postings for over 2 weeks so I thought I'd just wake it up with a quick video. More/better videos to follow..

I can't seem to embed the video so here a link.

Re: Quick video of my car.

There's a few around here I go to. The main one I hit is the Walmart in Boonton on friday nights. There are a few others around here I go to. I've only been to one this year in Wyckoff so far but I'll be going out more often now.

Re: Quick video of my car.

A blown engine doesn't cost any more to build than a N/A engine you just have to add the cost of the blower, carbs, fuel lines, linkage, air cleaner/scoop. So add up what it costs to build a solid N/A engine and then add about $3500-4500 on top of that and you will be pretty close.

I agree the engine itself costing the same to build as any other high horsepower engine, but you don't have to spend The $3500.+ for a blower. If you buy everything brand new seperatly it can/will easily cost that much. If you are patient and spend some time searching you can get them for a lot less. I bought a brand new BBC 671 blower set up for $1500.00 a few years back. How? I bought it at a swap meet from guy who bought it new then but never "finished" his project. It had never been bolted on a engine so I wasn't worried about buying a "swap meet" blower like I would if it was a used set up. All brand new. There are other places to look for similar deals like Racingjunk.com and even eBay. I've seen some blower set ups with carbs and linkage sell in the $2500.00 range. A guy I know bought a running blown BBC off of eBay (with a dyno sheet) for $4500.00 last year. Now it was a "smaller" 144 blower, but it's a blown BBC that makes about 600 hp for a very resonable price. It was close enough that he was able to go look at the engine while it was running still in a car. I wouldn't recommend buying a used blower or blown engine sight unseen.

I don't know if you are capable of building your own engine, but that is way to save major money. I built both of my blown engines and saved plenty.

It will never cheap to build a blown engine but it can be cheaper than you think.
