New Look.

What do you guys think of the new stripe I just put on?

I think it turned out pretty nice.

My wife has been on me about putting it back on the road. I just might start looking into what the State laws are like. Won't take too much, the biggest issue will be an exhaust.

Re: New Look.

I think it looks pretty cool.

Exhaust should not be a problem. I have 3" on my prostreet car. I ran the pipes out the back and had to run the pipe under the rearend.

I got rid of the SR Radials.

Re: New Look.

The stripe was a kit from a guy in Canada and he made it to my color choice. Can't complain at all for $79.99. He also makes the factory hockey stick style stripe but I wanted to be different.

So should I add the side louvers to the quarters or not? I'm still torn up about this?

Here's a shot of the interior, it's not 100% done yet, but very close.

and before you bash me for the pink bandana, like my buddy did, it's in memory of my little four legged buddy that hung out with me all the time in the garage. She didn't get to see it finished but I have a lot of good memories of her being with me as it was being built.
Anyhow, I need to get a headliner and also the inside pilar post covers. The dash pad is actually a dash cap made by Accu Form and it's just attached by the factory screws that are on the side of the dash. I plan to put a few tabs of velcro along the front to hold it down a little better. Not bad for $68.00. Sure beats paying $300.00 for a repo one and looks just like the real thing.

Hey Prostreet69camaro, what type of rear suspension are you running? I like how you ran the exhaust.

Thanks again for the comments.

Re: New Look.

I have a ladder bar rear suspension w/ a panhard bar. I built my car about 20 years ago. I did have to put dimples in the pipe to clear the front ladder bar brace. Also my mufflers are flowmaster and they are standing up inside my wheelwell before the rearend.

I plan on redoing the exhaust next year when I rebuild the motor.

I want to put some electric exhaust cutouts on it. Now that is going to be hard to do.

Re: New Look.

I cant tell if you have the chrome around the wheel openings. But if you do then the quarterpanel louvers wont look bad.

Re: New Look.

Stripe looks good would look better if the 396 emblem was not outside of it.

Re: New Look.

Looks great as it is! If you feel compelled to add the quarter chrome it will look fine seeing you already have the wheel arch chrome/stainless.

Tokyo Torquer,

Main reason I got rid of them was they made my car wobble back and forth the harder you got on it. It was real scary. I thought I had suspension / shock problems at first. I changed the shocks, went to solid rod ends, I had polyurethene ends. I finally went back to Hossier quick time pro tires and my car was back to normal.

I found out the radial tires have fiberglass radials and I'm thinking it was stretching them back and forth which made the car wobble.

I also like a balloned tire like a slick but the radials are flat on the sides.

They rode great on the highway and the main reason I got them was incase I was caught in the rain.

It also could have been a factor since I had the biggest tire made also. The smaller ones might not do it. I hade the 33 X 22 X 15.

Stripe looks good!!!!

I installed the quarter panel louvers and factory style wheel opening mouldings on my '69.

I was thinking the same thing but for me to do this, I would have had to cut too much of the front portion of the stripe away and that would not have looked good.

The 69 Camaro that was pictured in the add, did not have either a emblem or side marker light, so I had nothing to go off of.

My wife was hoping that it was done, wait till I tell her that I may want to add the louvers.......

Thanks guys.
