Thanks for those that posted replies. I changed out the bushing (large black one 18*) this afternoon as well as the springs (one blue, one silver) and set the initial to 16*, 18* was causing a little backfire and FIRE out of the carb so I backed it back to 16. So total is 34 as most 383stroker guys have suggested and adjusting the springs really made it more responsive down low in the RMP's.
Starts great, runs better than before and didn't seem to get at hot but it was pretty cool this evening when I drove so we'll see about that later.
