The nipples coming out through the firewall rules out a BB car. Since your VIN is so early, the 10D means the fourth week of October '68, but you already knew that. 711 means it had a black standard interior originally. The dual exhaust bracket came on any car that was factory ordered with dual exhaust, so it couldn've had any V8 in it. As early as your car is, odds are it had a 327 originally unless it is a possible SS350 or LM1 car, which would have been a 350/255HP car (unless you find the X3 or X7 behind the rear seat). It's a long shot, but drop the gas tank and see if the broadcast sheet is lying on top of it. That will tell you exacly what it had originally, but they are rare to find on Norwood cars.
