I have seen this topic posted before but just have one small question? Just replaced all vacum hoses (used a kit from ricks) and the headlight doors do work now but the one on left is still not wanting to close after being opened without a little help? Could the actuator motr be bad or going bad? any thoughts on what to try? Have made sure all hinges has oil on them and nothing seems to be binding? Just blows that the right side wourks great but the left opens and sticks when closing!!!
The actuators tend to leak internally. Some will open and not close, some will close but not open. There is a seal inside around a piston that slides back and forth. They also can leak where the push rod comes out. A hand vacuum guage hooked to the acutator will help you find the leak. Just manually pump it and listen for air and also you can put your finger over the oposite hose connection on the actuator and if it builds vacuum but won't if you finger is off, then the piston is leaking.
