General Information

Original SS 396, bought new from dealership in Kemptville Ontario Canada 1968. Then purchased by my cousin in 1971. He restored it in 2001. I had it repainted it in 2017.
1968 Chevrolet Camaro (Red)


Original 396 L34 replaced with factory warranty CE code 402 in 1970.
Re-built 820 closed chamber heads by 'Radar' of Ottawa Ontario Canada.
Unknown 'lumpy' cam I really want to change due to uncomfortable idle and poor low end power. Any suggestions appreciated.
Original iron intake manifold.
1.75" long tube headers into 2.5" Pypes x-over transverse crossflow.
Original Quadrajet rebuilt and modified by me according to Cliff Ruggles book.
Pertronix distributor with vacuum advance. I have the original points dist. ready to be rebuilt.
Northern aluminum rad. 160* high flow super stat. car runs 185* -195*.
Original Th400 with transgo shift kit and 2000 stall.
Gear Vendor O/D ready to install.
Standard black on black. New carpet and headliner.
I have some 69 buckets with headrests I plan to recover and install. Would like to have shoulder belts too.
I have a nice floor shift/console I'd like to put in and get rid of the column shift. The car also came with a vintage Sunpro Super tach installed above the radio but I removed it and am considering re-installing on the steering column.
Triple gauges installed below ashtray.
Was originally blue with white stripes. I had it painted 1987 Camaro brilliant red metallic in 2017. I'm thinking of doing flat or maybe pearl black stripes. Factory stainless trim package and light tint windows.
Original AM radio. Will upgrade eventually.
Hotchkis front 2" drop springs.
Original sagged out 5 leaf rear springs. Air shocks currently holding her up. Planning Hotchkis rear leaf to match the front. Need to change shocks all around too. Gulstrand/tall ball joint on the to do list. Original A-arms seem ok with poly front end rebuild. Frame connectors and solid body mounts on the list as well.
Original 3.44 posi 12 bolt. Want to go to 3.55 or maybe 3.73.
Original manual steering. Want to do JGC box and 14" comfort grip wheel.
Wheel and Tire
Craggar s/s 15" with BfGoodrich.
15x8 front 4"bs 225/35-15
15x10 rear 4"bs 245/50-15
Original 4 wheel drums changed to Nova front disc and T/A rear disk.
Maybe one day change to 17" rims.
