I was trying to figure out if the 12 bolt in my 68 was numbers correct.
It is a posi with the eaton style clutches & 3.73 gears.
The stampped number is PY 1207G2.
I went to "CRG" & came up with some info, but wasn't sure about the rest.
Tell me if I am right...
I am not sure about the P & the Y.
The 1207G2 would mean: Dec.7th 1967 2nd shift ?????
This car is an early 68 & the guy I bought it from said was an SS yet it had a cowel hood & no tic tock tach or consol gauges. It had an after market steering wheel too.It did have the SS badges, but that dosn't mean squat.
1) If this is a Dec. 67 rearend, would they have used it in a early 68?
2) Is there any way to conferm if it was a real SS?
3)What does the PY code mean?
Thankyou for your time...Tom
