:confused: Recently purchased a 1967 Camaro, but tail lights are not working. Neither are brake lights or back up lights. Head lights, park lights and turn signals all work.

Here is the head scratcher. Occasionally, the tail lights will appear. We've seen them work; however, it is for less than 1-2 minutes and they quickly go out again. Another nuance is that when the tail lights are on, they seem to get brighter or dimmer based on the acceleration of the engine.

Any assistance, comments or ideas are appreciated.

Todd, the first place to look is at your lights wiring and especially the grounding areas. Take the ground connections loose and sand the areas real good. Get some star grounding washers and install/use them everywhere you have a ground. You mentioned that your turn signal lights worked. Are you referring to the front working and not the rear or that all four work? I would suggest cleaning all of your ground wire connections throughout the car anyway, they really can become dirty and loose ground connectivity. If after doing the ground connections you still don't have rear lights, you might want to check the bulbs and sockets and then wiring at the light switch and the wiring back toward the rear lamps. The only thing else that comes to mind are the turn signal switch might possibly be weak/bad in the steering column. So first do the grounding areas, then the bulbs/sockets; then start looking at the other items mentioned. Since you have power to the other lights, I doubt that it has anything to do with the fuse block. Good luck and let us know what you find.

After you do JR's suggestion and they still don't work,
Some wiring hints:
Taillights are the brown wire, look above or behind the drvr kick panel for the body harness connector. It may need unplugging and pluging back together firmly.
Brake lights get power from fuse panel, STOP, and goes to the brake switch actuated by the pedal under the dash. Then, power goes to the turn signal switch in the steering column and comes out each individual side, yellow for left side, dark green for right side.
Back-up lights power from fuse panel to either steering column on the top at the firewall, if column shifted automatic, or on console shift handle if console equipped. If manual trans, look for a switch on the drvr side of the trans with a two wire harness coming out the firewall. Reverse light power then goes to the rear, light green wire.
