Thanks for responding. The reason I'm asking this is because there is some mystery about this 1968 ss Nova 396 car I just bought from a guy in Phila.who had the title in his name since 1975.It's original 4spd car with factory console and tach.Factory tinted glass, bucket seat car with custom interior package.Found build sheet in upper portion of back sheet, codes read X AO1 A51 CO8 D55 U80 ZJ1 ZJ2 with build date O7 O3 68 which is 7A on cowel tag. Does'nt have original 396 but did come with 396 and right casting #'s for that year car, motor was not decked so original #'s from GM were still on pad. Anyway he's not sure what big block was in car since back in 1975 when he bought the car ,it came without the original motor. He changed the front fenders and remenbers some special ID on the sides of both fenders behind front tires.Question, is there anyway to find out if this car is Yenko,Motion,Harrel or if the original motor was a 396/375 or396/350.By the way before the guy I bought the car from had it ,he told me it was drag race.I believe that to be true since it has tow mounts off the front frame and inner rear well lips were cut to allow for wider slicks or tires. Thanks Dan
