Is there a way to repair the portion of this gauge carrier that was cut out to fit aftermarket radio? The rest of the carrier is in real good shape so I hate to replace it with an aftermarket one. All suggestions or referrals to a service that restores gauge carriers will be greatly appreciated.

I bondoed one a few years ago. Are you going to reinstall the OEM radio? Maybe cut some plastic and JB weld it. It would be great if the after market would make a repair panel for those that have been cut up.

Sorry, I do not know of a service that would fix these, but the plastic is similar to the polystyrene you did model cars with. A good "hard plastic" epoxy will adhere pretty well ( I have used JB-Weld too). If you built model cars in your youth, you can use epoxy to build up the areas and sand/paint. Chrome spray paint (applied with fine brush) approximates the vacuum chrome outlines. The missing radio cup is more of an issue, since it pretty gone. But you might find, you can build it up with new plastic and epoxy.

Don't quote me but I've read about plastic welding by melting the joint.
Regardless of the repair, I'd support the radio to keep the stress off the repair.

I used Polyvance Plastifix to repair similar damage around the radio on my dash. It also worked great on a cracked wiper switch stud and a broken tab. The steps for reconstructing a tab are shown in this youtube video

Rob, I too thank you, that looks like a cool product. I have ABS RS shield and kickpanels repairs to do and this says it works on ABS as well as hard plastic, so I will give it a try!
