Have a small block 400 thirty over with a set of Dart Pro 1's 2.08 intake and 1.60 Exaust Anyone forsee problems on a street strip car. Compression will be 11.3.

Don't quite understand your question. Are you asking if the valve size will cause a problem? Or maybe you are asking about piston to valve clearance?

Engine runs but is set up with a 1050 carb and a drag cam. Wondering about the valve size. Every thing I find puts it borderline.Just looking for clarification.Thanks for cathing that slip up.

Still don't quite understand, but I'm running AFR 210 heads on my 355 with 2.08" valves. That valve size shouldn't be a problem in your 406. :confused:

2.08's should be ok... but that 1050 carb and only 11.3:1 ? I see the carb as an issue.

Ditto on the carb issue. I can tell you for a fact that 2.08's fit a std 400 bore. I've got AFR210's on my 427. Now with Steve's combo I would have some clearance concerns.

That's actually a good combo. (Have made some decent power with those "Pro-Ones" also!)

On a recent build (with a "Dart" block) 406" 11:1, Pro-Topline 235's (2.080's), a "small" solid roller, and a "Victor" with a 4500 and 2.000" primaries unit cam off the dyno @ 610 HP.

Is in a "street/strip" ride now, 3600#+, and runs 10.70's @ 124 MPH. All on 93 octane!

P.S. In all honesty, a 2.080" valve or larger actually hurts the overall performance on a 4.000" SB (either +.030" or +.060"). The larger valves end up experiencing flow issues with the cylinder walls. We just delivered a 383" SB with 550+ HP using some 2.020's (older Brownfields) and 93 octane also! These are all slightly "higher-end" solid-roller units, not "budget-builds"!
