Hi all

Just having a bit of fun and printed some ABS plastic parts, some internally threaded bolt thread covers and a test marker light cover so far. Figured I'd share the test marker lights no idea how they will hold up but they are pretty solid for a test run.

I'll make sure these stand up well, prob do some redesign because the shafts are 5mm abs which wont take long to break. Just used the free Tinkercad for such simple parts, I uploaded to Thingiverse - Digital Designs for Physical Objects but have to wait 24hrs before I came make them public to all, I'll post back tomorrow with a URL for the marker lights and thread covers. Feel free to modify as you see fit.

Also pretty sure the marker light covers distance between the threaded shafts is the same as the front quarter panel emblem, so if ur like me and been wanting to make your own LSx emblem these should be a good start.

Very cool! It might be more durable to put threads in the marker lights where the shafts are now and thread a metal stud in there.

Fascinating. As an old timey draftsman, I find 3D printing amazing. I've used ACAD 3D for presentations but printing was just a dream at the time.
Is this program user friendly? Could someone like me self learn it?

For those interested I'm using this 3d printer https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018GZBC3Y I got it for below $300 but is now 317 on amazon. It super easy to setup and use, I bought one previous from a different manufacture that I had to return due to setup and quality but this one is good. Mind you it wont make show quality parts without some filling, sanding etc.. but its a cheap tool for what it is and I dont just use it for auto stuff.

my local library has a 3d printer you can use. It stay at the library and I think you have to reserve time on it but sounds pretty cool. I haven't been down to check it out yet. My BIL in Columbus Ohio belongs to the Idea Factory. Not sure about 3D printing but have many machines and people to help bring an idea to prototype product.

I'm looking to fill the holes by my 69's front bumper brackets.
