We are doing the timing on this engine and for some reason gas is just gushing out of the top of the injectors. I replaced the gaskets on it and the piece that goes in the back of the injectors (that red gasket with the little float thing). It didnt do this yesterday but today it is. Anybody know what wrong? Could the distributor being out of position do this? Ive ran out of ideas. All help is appreciated. thanks!

a little more info...is there fuel running out while the truck is running or off???is it in a spray pattern, or dripping???does the truck smoke???why are you timing it???unless you changed something, you shouldnt need to time it...the float thing, are you talking about the fuel pressure regulator???also, there are o-rings around top and bottom of the injectors...if an injector has been changed, you could`ve ripped the o-ring...these injectors have a dowel pin in them to line them up ...make sure they`re lined up correctly, or you can damage the o-rings also...

it needed timed because the distributor was pulled by the idiot neigbor. the fuel pours out of the top of the injectors as soon as the key is in the on position. the o-rings are all brand new and properly seated. the truck smokes lightly because of the fuel sitting in the bowls. the truck needed timed because you could hear the engine was delayed which the gun did show. the fuel only pours when the key is turned on. any suggestions?

check the inj`s again...i know it sounds stupid, but if they`re not in correctly, you`ll get the exact leak you`re seeing...also the fuel pressure regulator could have a hole in it...
