Hi,

I need to know if I can convert to carb a lt1 engine and still use the 40l60e tranny without using a specific module to run it.

Yes but not with that tranny. You would have to regress to an earlier version that had a one piece case and weaker parts to get the transmission to be hydraulically controlled instead of electrically by way of a computer. the other option would be a stand alone computer called a TCU found stock in Diesel powered light trucks (the 4L80e and the 4L65e will work with a diesel control unit, how well is a mater of preference). If you wanted a programmable control unit that you program with any computer connected to the module you need to look to TCI or the other EFI conversion companies for the parts to control the transmission.
