In looking at various online pics of the 327 SBC engine, it appears that the scripted "Chevrolet" valve covers came from the factory. I noticed that these valve covers have no provisions for a PCV valve or tube that would run to the air cleaner. Did the 67 327 have a down draft tube in the back of the engine to allow the crankcase to breathe? Or, did the crankcase breathe through the oil fill tube and its cap?

There was an crankcase vent assembly under the intake

and a cap behind the dist and an inline PCV valve.

Fresh air came in through the oil filler cap at front of intake.

Was the other end of the PCV valve connected to the carb? Or air cleaner base?

The only part not shown in the photo above is a special hanger for the pcv valve that is held by one intake manifold bolt. Last i knew that part was not reproduced.
