I recently installed the magnaflow 15895 kit. This has the transverse muffler as original which I like. Sounds great. The only thing that is a problem is the tips out of the muffler. They dump all way in back by tailpan between spring and body. I dont really mind the look from where it is supposed to dump just behind the rear tires but pass side rattles at times. They are not loose. It’s a vert tight spot. Does anyone make these tips in SS to dump in correct location that would work with my transverse or am I looking at custom from a shop.

Most likely behind the tire where it goes over the leaf spring.

Mine does it once in a while still. I'd bet it won't matter where it dumps (stock or tail pan)

You may get lucky and see where it hits, then maybe dent it in a fuzz for extra clearance ?

Check with PYPES I have a full 3" PYPES system but I bought their 3" polished SS tips and adapted them. I think they also have smaller diameter polished tips.

Joe, I have a Thrush transverse muffler on my 67. I don't know if Magnaflow does this but
Thrush welded adapters to their muffler which raised hell with the factory style (dump in
front of tires) tail pipes even though this was purchased as a kit. Because I had to modify
the tail pipes to work I would suggest you go to a true exhaust shop. They can custom fit
as needed and that's hard to beat.

This is a picture of that exhaust kit #15895. Looks like it’s supposed to dump the exhaust behind the rear wheels like you wanted. Seen this same picture on several sites. Need to talk to your supplier or manufacture.

A muffler shop can "tweak" your exhaust pipe(s) to prevent rubbing. They likely will need to heat/bend the tail pipe slightly

Some do put "tips" on the end of the down turned pipe behind the rear wheels

I have a 2 1/4" system I had made/installed at a local muffler shop. I bought these tips which they welded on. 2 1/4" in x 2 1/2" out. They fit nicely between leaf spring and 1/4 panel:

I meant to say in back of tire.

Roger, your picture is my exact kit and they due dump all way back by rear pan. Those tailpipes are longer than they appear. I may have to cut/fab something up for a shop to weld. I was just seeing if others had this issue and if there were any other options.

Any good muffler shop can either bend/cut your tail pipes to desired position/length/angle. You can also have "tips" of various angle cut put on if you want a "chrome or stainless" espoused tip

I had my stock transverse muffler pulled for true duals but kept the factory behind tire "look" but did put on the tips I noted in my earlier post

Do other members a favor and give Magnaflow a honest review of this kit.

I certainly will Roger. As I said the fitment and quality was great. No problems. Tucks up tight. I don’t mind where they exit just can’t stop the rattles. I selected this style for the oe look with better performance and SS finish looks good too.

Should have said it fit everywhere except the tail pieces are very tight. Only have 1/2" on either side and you can only put so many hangers. I don't want to complain but I wished it didn't rattle. Dumping in the OE location would of solved my issue and been less pipe for the manufacturer.

MagnaFlow claims that the exit for the tailpipe is in the 'stock' location, and if you look at that illustration on the MagnaFlow website you'd think they dump behind the rear wheel, but they do indeed come all the way to the back-
This Camaro in the video had the 15896 kit (two mufflers vs the 15895 transverse) but the tailpipes exit the same.
The Flowmaster kit 17129 https://classicmusclecarexhaust.com...f-body-american-thunder-2-5-super-40-flo17129 and Pypes kit SGF60 & SGF70 are also designed to exit behind the wheel.
