Picked up a 68 Camaro. Body work is all completed just needs to finish the car. Right now its a roller. No motor no trans. It has a 10 bolt, but we got a 12 bolt to go with it.

Dash Pad
Al Knoch has the best pads to date, all others look awful. Your dash top should be suede finish, zero gloss. Top of cowl should be body color and not black. It seems more and more cars are done like yours because few people today know what they looked like originally. Heater box cover is full gloss(80% as it pertains to lacquer). Have fun.

Probably bc they just spray all one color so they wont have to tape off and spray a different coat.

Was placing an order from Ground up

Laziness and since most don't know, the painter does not care. I go to GUP often and could check out a dash pad but would not get my hopes up. There are threads here with photos comparing Al Knoch to others. I'm shipping a '67 pad core to Al just for this reason.

Hi Matt,
What a great start.
Have you decided on an engine and transmission?
Good Luck with your new 68. I am looking forward to seeing your progress.

the interior in my car is all original. and the dash cowl is black
I have talked to the original owner more than once
but maybe I am misunderstanding your comment

Looks like a good project. Should be fairly easy to finish based on what I see.

I would drop a 350 in it and leave the 327 for the convertible but either way should work out just fine.
