1968 Z/28 advertised on ebay as number matching.
Does this look original or restamp?

I'm not completely familiar with Los Angeles stampings, but I'm not liking it....

It is a 68 block because of the front oil galley plug and from one engine plant, it eludes me for the moment.

I'd say the 5 is crooked and the line of characters is too far back from the edge, might be covered up by the head.

The deck doesn't have the corrosion the block does to match.

But then, I'm not an expert.

Thats a poor picture to say for certain. I would say it's not original judging by that picture. A better picture would help.

i'd say restamp . the motor was left out to rust ? it looks like all fresh rust . I don't like the smaller vin numbers more them the larger ID numbers .

RESTAMP for sure. Says it was raced and his friend bought it for $500 as a basketcase but he somehow saved the real block, along with the wrong crank ?? The block is surface rusted with a fresh pad ??
