i am under the impression that the ss have front disc brakes is this right? i found an rs/ss that has drums on the front.

For 1969 disc brakes were included with the SS (Z27) option. In '67 & '68 disc brakes were optional equipment.

Don't rule out SS because of front drums. Sometimes racers put drums on the front to reduce brake drag. I once looked at a L78 pace car with drums.....I passed on the car, but that's another story, one I'll whine about until the day I die.

Unless I am mistaken about this, I believe on a 69 ss, there should be a hanger welded at the rear of the body for duel exhaust, so maybe you can check for that to help identify it as an ss. If my info is wrong, I apologize and Im sure someone will correct me on it.
