I tried this in Chevelle Tech and didn't get much help, thought I'd try it here.

I found a set of 15X7 69 rally wheels that the owner says he took off of a 69 Z28, says they are a matched set. I can come up with the correct numbers that should be on these from Chevy by the Numbers.

Question, if they are in decent shape (no rings or caps included) about what should I expect to pay for them. He wants $160. I'm going to get them or look at them Tuesday.

With the trim rings and center caps? If so you would be stealing them. If they don't have them and they match the date of your car they are still cheap. YH coded wheels will probably run you $100 plus each normally.

He said he had found three of the trim rings and no center caps. I dont expect the rings to be in useable condition but hope the rims are still good.

They should be the YH or the AD wheels, is that correct.

DF are early 69 AD are mid 69 wheels, YH are mid and late 69 wheels. Think DF's were only used for about a month of 69 production, then AD till January or so, the YH for the rest of the year. So I guess it depends on when your car was made. YH are the most common wheels though. Those dates are rough, as I don't follow Z28 wheel use since I don't have a Z.

DFs are 15 x 6 67-68 Z/28 wheels; never used on 69s.

Sharp YH wheels dated correctly for Yenkos can easily cross $1000/set. They were used into the 70 model year on Monte Carlos; 70 dates have little value. AD wheels are uncommon but do not command the same prices. Later FW wheels are dimensionally identical to YHs but are quite common and nearly sale proof.

We should.

Years ago someone speculated that early '69s used DFs. It got into print has been repeated so many times it has been accepted as fact.

The fact is to date no documented '69 Z/28 is known to have been built with DF wheels and there are several excellent original early production cars in existance.

I know of a 68 Z/28 built with 14 x 6 wheels. Maybe that should be on the chart.

Turned out to be FW, 71 to 75 Monte Carlo or Chevelle 15x7s.

Decided to check out a set of rallys that came on a 65 chevelle that I bought. Thought they would be corvette rims since seller said thats what they came off of.

Turned out to be 69 15X7 YH wheels, they are in real nice shape and have trim rings and center caps that are also very nice.

Is there any way to determine if the rings and caps are correct for the wheels.
