Hey guys. I've got a 69 RS/SS Convert with standard interior. I'm just completing a complete reto. It was a rust bucket when I bought it, so I don't have any pictures or old pieces to go by. I've just put in the door panels and in addition to the 6 clips (3 per side), I know that there are at least two screws that pull the bottom portion of the panel tight. I've seen up to 4 on some cars. My question is how many scews should there be to be correct? Pictures, for location, would help. The Fisher Body Manual doesn't give details and the doors that I'm using were off of a car with deluxe interior so there aren't any existing screw holes (at least not at the right locations). Any help is greatly appreciated. Tim

There should be 4 screws across the bottom. I dont have pics of mine, maybe someone else will chime in.

Here is a link to a car on e-bay. It has the standard TR711 black door panels. Repeat: I said door panels, not interior for the perfectionists out there who like to criticize anyone who has a Fram oil filter on their car instead of A/C Delco. God forbid someone has a battery other than original OEM A/C Delco, or an HEI or MSD distributor while they have the hood open at a car show when their car isn't even entered in the show. I said door panels, not interior. I know someone added the houndstooth seats, but I bet some perfectionists would comment on that so I figured I would mention it.

Scroll to the bottom. Look at the picture on the bottom of your computer on the right side. The standard door panels look like this and they have 4 screws on the bottom.

Standard or deluxe it will have 4 screws across the bottom and that is correct. Although I have seen up to 6 and as many as 8 screws in some cars with aging/warping door panels and clips that just don't want to go in or stay in place on the back side of the door panel. Four screws across the bottom of the door panel is what you want!!
