I was wondering if any one had a good interior paint code for 718 (red) in PPG, Dupont, or SEM. I am having no luck with my local paint suppliers and would like to know what other people maybe using to match this color.

Have you tried giving them the Ditzler code and just had no luck?

This page ( http://tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrary/cgi-bin/search/searchpic.pl?1969-chevrolet-pg02.jpg ) lists three different low gloss colors for use with the 718.

There's the standard black 9266.

There's a dark red 71750.

there's a medium red 71751.

Now this is Ditzler refiinsh data, so I'm not certain which one is correct. 718 is listed as Medium Red Standard. But I recall seeing cars with black rugs and red soft trim, so maybe those got a black dash.

Of the named color choices above, only the dark red shows a corresponding 0 gloss color (71643) for the dash top and other anti glare surfaces. But, that sounds too dark.

Try Tower Paint in Osh Kosh Wi. I will see if I can find there # in my reciepts. I have had exc. paint and gloss match from them, they will put in spray cans if needed.

Thanks, the numbers you gave me were all good, the 71750 is carmine red and the 71751 is cardinal red and are both still available in PPG lacquer if you can find some one that still sells lacquer. I had PPG come up with DBC formuals for both colors and I will be doing spray out's to see if they match. The 71643 is rosewood met which is a good number to but had fine metallic in it and is still available too. I also had PPG come up with a code in DBC too. I'll let you know how the spray out go that way if some else is look for help with these colors you can pass this info along to others. Thanks Jay
