Could someone explain if the sequence to install the horn spring, pin and retainer are in that order? Once installed should I be able to push on the pin and it spring back under pressure or should it be rigid?
I've seen a number of photos but it is still unclear.

Spring sits in cup on the cancel cam.

Pin, with big end/head toward the spring, gets the insulator sleeve over it.

Wheel hub goes over the shaft end, with horn pin and insulator sleeve installed small end up through hole in hub.

At this point, when you push on pin, it depresses into column hub.

Wheel bolts onto hub, then the contact assembly (what the center cap fits into) screws to wheel. Cap installs into contact assembly.

The horn button on these wheels doesn't really push in like a button on one of the other wheels. It more or less just "leans" a fraction to one side or the other and allows the contact assembly to ground and complete the circuit, making the horn sound.

Good deal, makes sense, thanks! The gismo spring, pin thing on the wheel I took off was just the opposite. But then again, it had the wire attached to it and I guess the spring was meant to force the wire on the canceling cam cup.
