Just curious as to whether or not a 69 z/28 could come from the factory without a cowl induction hood.

I was curious because there is a camaro that I have been driving past for the past 3 months (its on the way to a friends house) that looks like it has been sitting a while surface rust across the top of the hood, roof and rear deck lid, has a rear spoiler that still show the white stripes, no emblems on it, that I may have to stop and look at sometime to see what it is, looks to be original paint from its shape, thats why I asked. Really kicking myself for buying a 69 opel gt right this sec.

Actually, only 1 in 10 69 Z/28s came from the factory with the ZL-2 Ducted hood.(cowl induction) Acording to MacNeish's book, 10,026 ZL-2 hoods were factory installed on 69 Camaros. Of these,3674 were on Pace Cars. That left 6352 to divide between the 20,302 Z/28s and the 30,000 SS cars.

Sad thing is I also know of another 69 z/28 that is setting around down here that has been wrecked (both back quarters were damaged) Hugger Orange with white stripes, haven't had a chance to inquire about it either.

Does that number of 6,352 include the COPO cars also? That sure is a small percentage of cars that 'originally' came with ZL2.

Opel GT's are nice. Just think, take out the 4cyl. and shoe horn a 350 in it! It would beat out a Z28 anyday.
