I own a 1969 Camaro I purchased about 2 years ago that has a 700-R4 transmission with the stock shift on the console. I did change the detent plate for the 700-R4 shifter. I just had the transmission rebuilt and the transmission mechanic broke the transmission cable that was on my car! Now they are trying to locate another one that will fit my car. I've called all the Camaro parts suppliers like Year One, Rick's First Gen., The Paddock, National Parts Depot, etc. and none of them offer a transmission cable for my setup. I had to try using one for a TH-400 but that cable was to short. Does anybody know of anyone that offers a transmission cable for my setup?
I don't think these guys at the transmission repair shop are going to try very hard to find a cable to fit.
Any help would be appreciated. It's killing me not to be able to drive my 69'.

I don't see any numbers on the old cable and most parts stores had cables but they were either to long or to short. I tried to match the length but none of them fit and the car wouldn't shift properly.
The car origanilly had a Powerglide transmission in it. And from what I was told by the previous owner the Powerglide was replaced by the 700-R4 just before I bought the car. But I'm still looking.

Can you define too short? The cable and casing together just don't reach or the amount of movement the cable has in the casing isn't enough? Shiftworks sells everything you need.... See link in my post above.
