After having my 750 rebuilt and tweaked several times, I'm read to scrap it and get a new one. I've narrowed it down to a Holly 750 double pumper vs a 770 Street Avenger. Which would recommend?

Here is a link to Holley's PDF on Carb selection:

Quick Reference guide:

Also here is a direct link to a Holley's online tool for Carb selection (kind of cool)

It is very hard to beat the drive ability on the street of a Vacuum Secondary carb with a vacuum advance distributor. Now on the track is a different story, but on the street we don't spend nearly as much time at WOT as we do at part throttle. WOT is where a double pumper really starts to shine over vacuum secondaries, so it really all depends on what you are doing.

I've ran both the 750 DP and 770 Avenger on my 454/525HP 5 spd 3:90 Chevelle, and I decided to keep the Avenger...it gives nothing up to the DP.

Have you even mentioned engine size?
I was just thinking the same thing. Although it wouldn't change my suggestion on going with the 770 vac. sec. But it would influence size. I'm assuming big block. But if it's a small block then go 670.
