I haven't actualy tried it, but i"ve been told that early Mustang and Fairlane rear ends will bolt in with little effort. I build 9" Fords that bolt in Camaros and use the stock Camaro brakes and spring mounts.

I got a 9" with 3.25 gears and a posi from a friend that does '66 Fairlanes. I had the 28 spline axles and drums drilled for a Chevy bolt pattern by Moser. I cut off the old mounts and welded on new ones. The width is within 1/4" of the original 8.2".
